    Medicare Advantage plans are available from private companies that contract with CMS to provide Medicare benefits to those eligible. The plans must provide all benefits provided by Original Medicare. They may also provide additional benefits depending upon the plan.

    A Medicare Supplement Insurance, also known as a Medigap, policy, are sold by private companies, can help pay some of the health care costs that Original Medicare doesn't cover, like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. Some Medigap policies also offer coverage for services that Original Medicare doesn't cover, like medical care when you travel outside the U.S.
